Seven Questions to Restore 2020 Vision

Remember “2020 Vision” and the intensity of a new decade that was swarming all around us only three months ago?

Here we are at the start of a new quarter, in the midst of a global crisis that will likely present a fallout of impact over the entire decade, and we are all set in place. At home.

Whether you’re alone and lonely or surrounded by your closest people, there is an opportunity in this moment:

Recapture the energy of 2020 Vision.

The longer this goes on, the more I feel compelled to allow this time to sharpen my focus, realign my priorities with my ideals, and develop a strategy for locking in the good changes that have come about as a result of sheltering in place.

If you haven’t seen any positive shifts, maybe it’s time for an updated prescription.

Heaven’s perspective reveals something wildly different from the poverty, fear, and desperation of a worldly point-of-view.

Can we choose to see that we’re stepping into the 2nd half of the 1st half of the first year of a new decade? (Hey, whatever it takes to help us feel the hope of a fresh start and the pregnancy of the moment, right?)

Now is the time for intentionality.

Now is the time for hope-filled reflection, positivity, and gratitude.

Now is the time to shift our eyes to the abundance of our present and the more of our future.

Here are seven reflection questions to help you restore your 2020 vision:

  1. How can we position ourselves and our families to heal and be healed through the changes brought about by the sickness around us?

  2. How is God calling us to step into our purpose and move into our destiny right where we are?

  3. Where do we need to get unstuck and how can we do that without changing our surroundings?

  4. Is Jesus nudging us toward a change of heart or giving us a new perspective?

  5. Do we need to unearth a hidden longing to be free from stubborn patterns of tired relational struggles?

  6. Are there opportunities in this season for choosing vulnerability and deciding to really SEE ourselves, our people, our circumstances, and all that we have been given.

  7. How can we call out the good in all of it? If you don’t see it, ask for a clearer vision as we press on into 2020.
